HOUSE DANCE

The House dance style is a type of urban street style to House music, a highly rhythmic form of dance music, which finds its roots and origins in disco funk. House dance has been around as early as the late 1970’s upon the end of the disco era with influences improvised from African, Lindy, Latin, Brazilian Jazz and Tap dance. House dance is commonly described in being improvisational in nature with a lot of emphasis on fast footwork accompanied by fluid torso movement. The House dance class focuses on teaching the three main styles of House dance, which is footwork, lofting and jacking and also its accompanying sub-styles such as skating, stomping and shuffling. This class is suitable for individuals who have done a few weeks in the Hip Hop foundation class or have adequate dancing background.
